The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) and the Department of Agriculture in the District held a training manual in the district to empower young women through skills development and entrepreneurship in agriculture. As part of this commitment, the General Vegetable Production Training Program has been designed specifically for women between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
The training provides participants with practical and technical knowledge on modern vegetable production practices, including land preparation, nursery establishment, planting, crop management, pest and disease control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. Through a combination of theoretical and hands-on learning experiences, participants will gain the confidence and skills needed to establish and manage successful vegetable farming enterprises.
Beyond production techniques, the program seeks to promote sustainable agricultural practices, improve food security, and create income-generating opportunities for young women. By equipping participants with relevant knowledge and practical skills, KIC aims to nurture a new generation of agripreneurs who can contribute to economic growth, community development, and the transformation of Ghana’s agricultural sector.
This training manual serves as a guide throughout the learning journey and provides essential information to support participants in applying the knowledge and skills acquired during the program.
