SOUTH TONGU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOSTS NATIONAL PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING CEREMONY.

President John Dramani Mahama In fulfilment of his campaign promise, declared 1st July of every year as Ghana’s official National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

South Tongu District marked the National Prayer and Thanksgiving ceremony with the theme “Reflect, Reset, and Review for National Prosperity.” The event aimed to foster a harmonious relationship and environment for a unified national agenda.

Where people from all well of life came for the program including pasters from various church’s, Muslims and traditional leader’s not living the school children in the district.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, and Member of Parliament, Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, welcomed and addressed dignitaries, including heads of institutions, religious leaders, political party representatives, traditional authorities, and constituents.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo and and Member of Parliament, Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor in their speech spoke about PEACE in the country and in South Tongu.

The ceremony featured prayers from various religious groups and concluded with remarks from the chiefs. Notably, the chiefs advised on the need to avoid political interference in chieftaincy issues, marking a significant moment in the country’s history as the first-ever national prayer and thanksgiving ceremony of its kind.
