Commissioning of 6-Unit Classroom Block at Sogakope D/A Primary ‘C’

The South Tongu District Assembly has handed over a 6-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facility to Sogakope D/A Primary C school to enable them have access to good and quality education in the area.

The Ghc 419, 655.50 project funded by Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP) started in March 26, 2019 and was completed in July, 2020. The facility consist of 1No. 6-Unit Classroom, Teachers Staff Common Room, Head Teacher’s Office and Store Room. Other facilities included rain harvesting system water storage tank.

Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama, District Chief Executive (DCE), in speech indicated that the Headmistress and Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of the school wrote a letter to him when he resumed office as the DCE regarding the dilapidated nature of the old classrooms.

He said, upon receiving this request, he solicited for assistance from the Japanese Embassy who eventually supported the construction of the facility. He further disclosed that the South Tongu district district was one of the five districts that benefited from the Japanese Embassy.

He charged the School Authorities to put to good use what has been given to them and ensure that they take care of the facility.

Madam Evelyn Araba Zentey, South Tongu District Director of Education commended the DCE for the initiative and encouraged him to continue with his good works so that teaching and learning can be more comfortable, productive and result oriented in the area.

She promised to ensure that the School Authorities practice good maintenance culture in maintaining  the facility.
