The District Environmental Health Unit of the South Tongu District Assembly organized a clean-up exercise at Dabala aimed at cleaning the environment and inculcating the behavior of cleanliness in the community.
Some of the cleaning exercises were sweeping, weeding, distilling of choked gutters, disposal and burning of refuse. The volunteers were offered gloves, boots, and nose masks for protection. Also, cutlasses, rakes, brooms, shovels and wheelbarrows were all provided for the exercise to ensure it was done effectively without any health problems.
Ending the exercise, the District Environmental Health Officer said a clean environment breeds healthy people and urged all present to make it a habit to always clean their surroundings.
