CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS AT THE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HALL, SOGAKOPE.

As part of  ongoing efforts to enhance staff capacity and ensure a safe working environment, the Human Resource Department of the South Tongu District Assembly organized a comprehensive one-day training workshop on Wednesday, 25th June,  2025, 10 am at the District Assembly Hall, Sogakope.

The workshop focused on Workplace Health and Safety Protocols, which aimed  to raise awareness and promote compliance among staff members.

The program commenced with  welcoming remarks  from the District  Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, and the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu.

Both  encouraged staff to actively participate, learn, and apply the knowledge gained  to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

The training session was led by Mr. Mathias Akorli, the Head of the Ambulance Services, South Tongu District together with a team from the Ambulance Service.

Mr. Akorli discussed essential topics such as:

– Identifying potential hazards in the workplace

– Understanding emergency procedures and protocols

– Promoting best practices for injury prevention

Through interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, and scenario-based learning, the staff of the  Assembly gained hands-on knowledge and insights into key safety measures.

The workshop emphasized the importance of fostering a proactive safety culture and  empowered staff to take ownership of their safety and that of their colleagues.

The workshop successfully equipped staff with essential knowledge and skills to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
