The district had the opportunity of receiving officials from the World Food Program (WFP) that paid a monitoring visit to the District Chief Executive Hon. Seth Kwasi Agbi (DCE) & the District Coordinating Director (DCD) to monitor the implementation progress of the LEAP program. South Tongu is one of the only two (2) districts in the whole of the Volta Region including Central Tongu running a pilot program on Digital Financial & Productive Inclusion Training which has an objective of scaling up Income Generating Activities (IGAs) in very poor communities of the district to make beneficiaries economically self-sufficient to improve their livelihoods and their communities. The five (5) districts where the program is being implemented namely, Tordzinu, Dorkploame, Gamenu, Sokpoe/Anaosukope and Agbeve. There is a seven (7) member district committee seeing to the implementation of the program. In all, a total of Six hundred and twelve (612) beneficiaries are involved in the program.
