ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER (PM) FOR SOUTH TONGU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER (PM) FOR SOUTH TONGU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY.

A New Chapter for South Tongu. At 11:00 am on the 23rd of April, the South Tongu District Assembly Hall was tense for the election for a new Presiding Member. Mr Siibu Imoro Braimah, the District Coordinating Director, reminded everyone what was at stake — without a PM, the Assembly risked missing out on DPAT compliance. Hon. Mensah Kwaku Kudze and Hon. Benjamin Amekudzi. The Electoral Commission (EC) Madam Rita Avevor invited the two nominees, Hon. Benjamin Amekudzi and Hon. Mensah Kwaku Kudze, to address members and solicit votes, but Hon. Benjamin Amekudzi stepped down on his own. Hon. Mensah Kwaku Kudze was reelected as the Presiding Member. He stood, visibly moved. “Thank you for trusting me again,” he said. “This isn’t my victory alone. It’s ours. Let’s work together for peace and development in South Tongu.” DCE Victoria Dzeklo rose to congratulate him, urging unity. After brief discussions.  Hon.Johnson Cobby Amedzo moved for adjournment.  The meeting was closed with a prayer. South Tongu had its PM. And a second chance to move forward.
