When you travel on the Sogakope stretch of road on your way to Aflao, you would be saddened. Hawkers have taken over the highway. Bread sellers have gushed out on the pavement, posing problems to pedestrians and drivers. Their own lives are at risk.
The Environmental Unit of the South Tongu District Assembly today 11th December 2025 took a bold step to move all bread sellers on the pavement to pave way for pedestrians and vehicular movement. By the help of the Ghana Police Service, the exercise was done diligently. The Environmental Officer used the opportunity to talk to the hawkers and motor riders on how safe they should handle themselves on the ECOWAS Road.
