On the 27th of March 2024, South Tongu District Assembly organized a staff durbar at the Assembly Hall. All staff were seated by which proceeded by the arrival of Hon. Innocent Lynford Tetteh (District Chief Executive) and Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu (District Co-ordinating Director).
The program began at exactly 1:30pm with an opening prayer by Sarah Gammond. Next was the welcome address delivered by the District Co-ordinating Director Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu.
In his address, he stated that the purpose of the program is to interact and introduce all staff members of the assembly to the new DCE. He added that the program is in two folds; staff durbar and interaction with the new DCE.
He encouraged all staff to get themselves involved with Assembly activities and encouraged all members to discipline themselves. He ended by saying he hoped everything goes on well.
The program continued with introduction of all staff members which was led by the Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Florence Twiaku where she mentioned all the departments and units one by one with their staffs standing for the DCE to see.
The program continued with the introduction of the new DCE in the person of Hon. Innocent Lynford Kwesi Tetteh. Introduction was done by the DCD, Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu to the staff of the Assembly.
After the introduction, the platform was given to the DCE to deliver his speech.
He stated that he wanted all staff members to demonstrate compassion, open communication, and dedication when they come to work.
He added that he will work hard in his power, with the support of all staff to raise high the name of South Tongu District Assembly. He also emphasized that the staff of South Tongu District should be unique in everything we do.
He concluded by thanking everyone present at the staff durbar for their time.
The program continued with the second part of agenda, which was a presentation by the HR on ‘The different types of Leave’ and the accepted procedure of applying for Leave.
After the presentation by the HR, the program continued with an open forum for questions, advice and suggestions which was led by the DCD.
Akrong Lynford Nii Laryea of Registry suggested that a first aid kit should be provided in the Assembly to be used for any medical emergency before proceeding to hospital.
Also, the Assistant Director in the person of Mrs. Florentina Oteng, suggested that staff members should be provided with the needed logistics in their various offices.
She added that separate washrooms should be provided for visitors who come to Assembly. Other departments also voiced their suggestions and asked questions.
The DCE gave his closing remarks by thanking all staff members for attending the staff durbar.
The closing prayer was said by Mr. Mohammed Abu Shiraz, the District Development Planning Officer of the South Tongu District Assembly.
