SOUTH TONGU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLD STAFF DURBAR

It was a warm Friday morning on 14th January, 2022 in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region. Staff members from various departments of the District Assembly gathered at the district assembly office for the highly anticipated staff durbar.

The staff durbar is a meeting where employees of the district assembly gather to discuss pertinent issues and updates related to their work. It is a platform for management to address the workforce and for employees to provide feedback and ask questions.

The event kicked off with a prayer and brief welcome address by the District Chief Executive. Then, the heads of various departments took turn to present updates on their work and upcoming projects. The presentations were informative, with staff members asking questions and providing feedback.

On the highlights of the event was a presentation by the Human Resource Manager on staff welfare and training. She outlined the various benefits available to staff members, including training opportunities. She reminded staff members of their writing a report after attending training programmes. The presentation was met with enthusiasm by the staff, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts being made to support them.

After the presentations, the floor was opened for questions and comments. Staff members took the opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns, which were addressed by the Co-ordinating Director on behalf of the management team. The discussions were lively, with staff members expressing their opinions and concerns freely.

Towards the end of the durbar, the District Chief Executive gave a closing remark, thanking the staff for the contributions and dedication to the development of the district. He emphasized the importance of team work and encouraged the staff to continue working together to achieve the district’s goals.

As the meeting ended, staff members left with a sense of unity and purpose. They had been given an opportunity to provide feedback, raise concerns and interact with management. The staff durbar was excellent way to foster communication and build a strong team spirit amongst the district assembly workforce.
