The District Chief Executive (DCE) for South Tongu, Hon. Seth Kwasi Agbi, on Thursday 19th May 2022 donated Two Hundred (200) metallic dual desks to some selected schools across the district.
The Honourable DCE indicated that his outfit through the South Tongu District Education Directorate selected some four (4) schools from the various traditional areas in the South Tongu District to benefit from the 200 metallic dual desks. The selected schools are; Agordomi E.P primary school, Detsawome D/A primary school, Atitekpo Amen Baptist K.G and Sukladzi JHS.
According to the DCE, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government and the South Tongu District Assembly will continue to support education throughout the district in the interest of its constituents.
He pledged his preparedness to support every activity that would promote education in the district. He encouraged the head teachers present to take good care of the desks so that they can last longer. He then thanked the Government for the continuous support towards education in the country.
The South Tongu District Education Directorate, represented by Mr. Elorm Golo, head of Planning, thanked the Government and the DCE for the donation and encouraged the head teachers to make sure the desks are properly taken care of and used for its intended purpose. He appealed to the DCE for more desks for other schools that are in dire need of them.
Mr. Mamattah H. Frank, the head teacher of Sukladzi JHS school on behalf of his colleague head teachers, thanked the DCE and the Government for the kind gesture and promised to take good care of the desks as expected.
