In fulfillment of its responsibilities, a team from the District Environmental Health office embarked on a comprehensive inspection of food vendors within the South Tongu District. This initiative aimed to ensure the safety and hygiene of food-related businesses, thereby safeguarding public health and promoting a culture of safe food handling and distribution.
The monitoring activities conducted by the team encompassed several critical aspects of food vending operations: The team meticulously examined the inventory of food vendors to identify any expired or spoiled goods. They checked Validity of Medical Screening Certificates and State of Business Premises.
During their rounds, the team visited a diverse array of business premises, which included:
Chop Bars, Bread Sellers, Sogakope Market, Kenkey Sellers and Provision Shops to confirm that the products being offered for sale met safety standards and were properly stored.
