The Launching commenced at exactly 10:05am at the District Assembly hall with an opening prayer from Rev. Christabel Alornyo. The MC outlined the order of the program for the lunching of the GEA project of the South Tongu District, after which he introduced the chairperson of the program who is the Presiding Member of the South Tongu District Assembly in person of Hon.Victoria Dzeklo, she gave her acceptance speech and she also encouraged the participant to grab this kind of opportunities when they come, she also mentioned that the participants should register for the GEA Project before leaving the program.
The program continued with a video documentary which was explained by the Regional Director of B.A.C Mr. Agyemang, in his explanation he stated that the project is divided in a percentage of which 70 percent for women, and 30 percent is for men which include people living with disability. He further explained that in a situation where they are not able to meet the target or the total number the organizers of the project are looking for, it will go to other districts. He also stated that the program is for both educated and non-educated people, he further added that that project is not meant for any political party so they should take it seriously. He also added that after application, the qualified applicants would be selected for the project. The applicants will be given a period of 3-6 months after which exams will be conducted for apprenticeship where certificates will be awarded to the qualified persons.
He also explained some of the pillars of the project in the slides that was shared with the participants of the program, after that he took the participants through the process of registration, the requirement needed, and the age limit involved with the project. After his presentation, chance was given to participants to ask questions which was done by some few participants. After this section closing prayer was said and some photographs were taken, after the photograph’s participants did their application online with the help of the IT desk which also was successful.
