The South Tongu District Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency, commemorated Ghana\u2019s Independence Day (Ghana) with a community-driven school renovation exercise aimed at improving the learning environment in selected basic schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was jointly led by the Member of Parliament, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, and the District Chief Executive, Victoria Dzekloe, who mobilised community members, teachers, students, and volunteers to repaint and refurbish two educational institutions\u2014Darul-Haq Islamic School and Kpotame PCG Basic School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise formed part of the Assembly\u2019s commitment to promoting quality education and creating a conducive teaching and learning environment across the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing participants during the exercise, Hon. Lukutor noted that national celebrations should go beyond ceremonial activities and translate into meaningful community development projects that directly benefit citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we celebrate our nation\u2019s independence, it is important that we invest in the future of our children by improving the conditions under which they learn,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Lukutor also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education in the constituency and announced plans to donate a school bus to Darul-Haq Islamic School, fulfilling a pledge he made during an earlier engagement with school authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Dzekloe, commended the enthusiasm and support demonstrated by community members and volunteers who participated in the exercise. She reiterated the Assembly\u2019s dedication to strengthening the delivery of education and further assured stakeholders of efforts to improve school feeding programmes within the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community leaders, school authorities, and residents expressed appreciation to the Assembly and the MP for the initiative, noting that the renovation would significantly boost morale among pupils and teachers and enhance the overall school environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
