This year\u2019s National celebration will be held in Ho, Volta Region, from Monday, 1st December to Friday, 5th December 2025. As part of the week-long activities, a five-day Agricultural Fair will be organized to showcase innovations in crop production, livestock, mechanization, fisheries, irrigation, and digital agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 theme, \u201cEat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future,\u201d<\/strong> urges citizens to embrace local production and consumption to strengthen self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on imports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also reflects the government\u2019s broader vision to transform agriculture into a key driver of inclusive growth, climate resilience, and national pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The district farmers’ day celebration was hold at Agbakofe on the November 27 , emphasizing started with National anthem and followed by both Christian and Traditional prayers. Mr. Wellbaforce Adzitor is introduced as the Chair for the occasion and he addressed the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam Shine Agbeko the district Agric director of South Tongu lead the official to inspect the farm goods brought for the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Victoria Dzeklo acknowledges the presence of various dignitaries, including member of parliament, district coordinating director, DFO (district finical officer), staff of the assembly, traditional authorities, clergy, media, and security services. She expresses honor in participating in the 41st district farmers’ day celebration at Agbakofe, emphasising the theme The speaker highlights the critical issue of food security and the need to priorities food production, promote local consumption, and safeguard the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Victoria Dzeklo recognizes the vital role of farmers and fishers in feeding Ghana and securing the future, noting the district’s fertile land and favorable climate. She notes that only 51% of the district’s farmland is under cultivation, with the rest remaining uncultivated, despite the district’s population of over 113,000. She emphasizes the need to motivate farmers and make farming a lucrative avenue for income generation and economic development. Discusses the importance of celebrating farmers’ day to increase yield and motivate new farmers to join the profession. The national celebration will be observed in the regional capital HO, with all 18 districts in the region celebrating their district farmers’ day to pave the way for the national event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also urges the public to be security conscious during the Christmas festivities, as criminals intensify their operations during this period. She thanks all stakeholders and contributors to the success of the program, expressing profound gratitude to farmers, fishers, agricultural officers, agriculture businesses, and partners. She also calls for unity to attract investors to the district, emphasising the importance of development and the role of investors in achieving this goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She concludes by expressing gratitude to all present and wishing them a successful 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration, urging them to work together to build a prosperous and self-sufficient Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
