The South Tongu District Assembly convened a public hearing on the draft Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) for 2026-2029, inviting chiefs and stakeholders from the district to discuss development priorities and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Victoria Dzeklo welcomed participants and outlined the purpose of the gathering. Mr. Mohammed Abu-Shiraz, the District Planning Officer, presented the draft plan, highlighting a 69.9% implementation rate for the previous plan (2022-2025) due to allocated funds. Over 100 development issues were identified and prioritized, focusing on education, health, and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Committee made up of seven members went round the 40 communities to get information from them effective development plans. He said there were able to implement 69.9<\/a>% as June 2025<\/a> due to the amount allocated.

Key proposed projects include constructing a two-story market with 30 units, repurposing the assembly guest house, building 10 mini classroom blocks, establishing a ceramics center, and improving tourism facilities. The plan also emphasizes smart agriculture, health infrastructure, water, and sanitation projects. The total cost is estimated at 172,061,289 Ghana Cedis, with strategies outlined to secure funding and stakeholder support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Augustine Frimpong emphasized stakeholder involvement, financial support, and the role of assembly members in promoting the plan. Concerns were raised about resource constraints, and participants were encouraged to provide feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General assembly will finalize and the plan, incorporating feedback, and commence implementation upon approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
