Victoria Dzeklo, in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) officers, held a productive meeting with Okada riders in the district. The meeting aimed to discuss crucial issues regarding the safety and operation of Okada riders, with a focus on enhancing road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, the DCE and MTTD officers informed the riders about the government&#8217;s revised licensing framework for motorcycle and tricycle operators. Key highlights of the new framework include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Enhanced authority for the Ghana Police Service to enforce road traffic laws, ensuring stricter compliance and improved road safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Creation of unions for motorcycle and tricycle riders to work closely with the police, promoting order and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Establishment of a national database to document all motorcycles and tricycles operating in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hon. Victoria Dzeklo expressed gratitude to the riders for their participation and urged them to always adhere to road traffic laws.
