Mr. Innocent Lynford Kwesi Tetteh, was confirmed on Saturday 2nd<\/sup> March 2024 as the DCE for the South Tongu District Assembly. This comes on the heels of President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo\u2019s, notification of him for the DCE\u2019s position as result of revocation of the former DCE\u2019s appointment signaling a new chapter for the district governance.<\/p>\n

Before the commencement of the voting, the representative of the Regional minister who is the Regional coordinating Director of the Volta Region address the assembly members to consider the interest of the district when casting their ballots. He also said a DCE would create positive avenues for the district\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

Mr. Tetteh, whose initial confirmation faced rejection, had been overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly Members on Saturday 2nd<\/sup> March 2024 with an 87.72% \u2018yes\u2019 vote, representing 50 out of 57 votes.<\/p>\n

The confirmation ceremony was witnessed by notable figures including the District Chief Executive for Afadjato and the Dean of Municipal and District Chief Executive, Hon.Etornam Flolu, alongside the District Coordinating Director for the South Tongu Assembly Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu, Regional Party Executives, chiefs, heads of departments, party loyalists, and supporters, signifying the importance of the community\u2019s engagement in the democratic process.<\/p>\n

With the participation of all 40 elected Assembly Members and 18 Government Appointees, the confirmation exercise saw Mr. Tetteh receive resounding support, with 87.72 per cent in favor and only 12.28 per cent opposing.<\/p>\n

Following his Swearing-in, Mr. Tetteh expressed his commitment to inclusive governance, emphasizing his open-door policy for all stakeholders to invested in the district\u2019s development. He pledged to work tirelessly towards elevating South Tongu to a municipal status, a promise that resonated with the community\u2019s aspirations.<\/p>\n

Togbega Nakakpo Dugbaza, the paramount chief for Tefle Traditional Area, urged Mr. Tetteh to prioritize listening to all voices in decision making, fostering unity and progress.<\/p>\n

Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, concluded expressing optimism about the district\u2019s future under Mr. Tetteh\u2019s leadership, foreseeing the continuation of stalled developmental projects.<\/p>\n
